WHY TAKE NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS? 

No human being can exist without adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals. These essential micronutrients, can be deemed coenzymes, meaning they are catalysts in the chemical process of life. These chemical actions are involved in all areas of living. From growth, to digesting food, breathing, and even preventing cellular damage, which can give rise to disease. 

Do we need to take natural supplements? 
Let me make my case for taking vitamins and minerals! 

Question #1 
Do you eat a balance diet? 
Do most people understand what a balance diet is? 
There are some many "diets" out there, how can you discern 
for yourself? 

Data by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, stated that only 40% of Americans consumed 60% of the RDA of ten selected nutrients. This means close to half of the population of the US suffered from a deficient diet. This deficiency can lead to a poor defense against body's internal systems, thus opening the door, to deterioration. This deterioration, gives birth to degenerative disease, such as Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, just to mention a few. 

And What about those Recommended Daily Allowances? 

This guideline can be confusing. And always changing. The RDAs do not address different lifestyles, such as the fit person versus the unfit person. Another example, the RDAs, does not take into account stressful lifestyles, which eat up some vitamins. Basically the RDAs are the minimum of nutrition levels, if you follow most of their direction in food eating. 

Why the RDAs have serious problems 

1. Today's food is so processed, full of chemicals, and basically dead in life saving nutrients. 

2. These are the amounts just to avoid a vitamins deficiency. 

It does not address individual needs! 

3. The RDAs are not addressing optimal health! 
WE ARE TALKING DISEASE PREVENTION! 
Fighting off disease, such as heart disease! 

4. Environmental Pollution is in our food supply as well, as 
water and air. RDAs levels cannot protect formation of 
toxins in bloodstream and cells. There are 3,000 chemicals 
added to our food. We may be eating more chemicals than 
nutrients. The Environment Protection Agency cites a whopping 
60, 000 chemical that have been buried or dumped throughout 
the US. 

And we wonder why we have some much cancer! 
Cancer starts at the cellular level! 

Are Natural Supplements Safe? 


The fact is only a few vitamins and minerals have shown any 
toxicity. You really have to go out of your way to become toxic. 

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and National Capitol Poison Control Center, reported over a period of seven years, (1983-1989), revealed 2,069 drug related deaths. These statistics which appeared in a 1991, publication of the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, said vitamins are 2,000 times safer than drugs (Lieberman Shari, Ph.D., "The Real Vitamin And Mineral Book, p 53). 

A Few Super Supplements 

1. Alpha Lipoic Acid, an excellent antiaging (aging starts at the 
cellular level not on the face). It protect the other vitamins and 
minerals, such as vitamins A and C. Lipoic Acid aids in 
neutralizing toxic metals. Also, destroys carcinogens, which 
gives rise to unregulated cell growth. A line of defense against 
diabetes, cataract formation and peripheral nerve damage 
(Balch James F., " The Super Antioxidants," p93-94). 

2. Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids. This supportive vitamins has 
it's claim to fame as the "cure for the common cold." But it is 
curial in the absorption of iron, and needed in greater amounts 
when the body is under stress or infection. New and creditable 
evidence is that patients who have cardiovascular disease, have 
lower levels of this powerful vitamin (Sinatra Stephen T. , M. D. 
Optimum Health, pp99-100). Doctor Sinatra cites that it 
decreases platelet stickiness in heart patients, thus aiding in 
heart attacks. Other diseases that vitamin C and Bioflavoniods 
respond to: Allergies (anti-inflammation), arthritis, bruising, 
cancer, mellitus, strike, and varicose veins etc. 

3. 100% Natural Vitamin E. The king of vitamins, in fighting heart 
disease. Vitamin E has proven to: protect LDL, protect the 
whole cardiovascular system, anti-aging, good for PMS and 
other female problems. Also protects against intoxication 
causing elements. 

4. Other super supplements: Pycnogenol contains many bio- 
flavonoids and is a very strong antioxidant. Used for allergies, 
skin, memory, phlebitis. Crosses the brain-blood barrier, 
protecting function of brain.
Other favorites of mine: 
ginseng, fish oils/flax oils, and alfalfa, a mineral rich food, in 
a needy mineral world, tri-born with calcium, magnesium 
for strong bones.
